Its been a long time. Almost four years. I have matured in those four years. This blog came from a platform of bitching and moaning to become a platform of bitching and moaning with some degree of respect. I think I have progresses enough to kill it now.

An apology goes out to anyone whoever felt hurt by the words expressed on this site. I have been wanting to kill it more and more as evidenced by months of inactivity.

I will try and be a better writer. I used to write and I will try and do so. The New blog is a work in progress. This one has been nothing but a thorn in my side with trying to change page elements, the RSS buttons not working, etc etc.

I will try and do better.

If you come across this, that means the blog is dead. Happy reading, the past four years but It kind of deserves its rest in peace.

Keep moving forward and further the progressive Reason-driven agenda.

Didn't know Monkey Grass was supposed to blossom flowers.

This was taken from my front yard. It has been incredibly HOT as hell and humid. Now I am sitting in my house on a Sunday night 23:12 and its still 85 deg F (29 deg C) with 63% RH outside. This equals instant sweat. You get sweaty swamp balls and it sucks. It also doesn't help that my next door neighbors have a 500 gallon pool that they filled a month ago and left the water sitting in it. So now there are a shitload of mosquitoes out everywhere. They never heard of West Nile I am sure.

I noticed iTunes has been bogging down the desktop well- its iTunes and Last.fm scrobbling. They both have become unusable. This is a bad thing, cause all 30GB of my music and also 10GB of my photos are on that pc. I am currently looking to source some external hard drives for data migration. or storage in case of an ill timed demise.

Last.fm have changed their layout and it took me for a bit of a shock. They made it rather Myspace-ey but not as lame as myspace. I don't mind the change really. It is a drastic change though. Kind of counter intuitive for everyone used to the original feel of the site.

Amid all the complaining and bitching and moaning from many people Twitter seem to have prevailed over the problems they have been plagued with lately. (Mostly High-Schoolers, Mainstream hair gel wearing persons, Pop-Top 40 types and Abercrombie Zombies) I am glad its more stable and frankly have not updated Plurk in a long time. I am thinking about placing a Twitter badge here but I always have a problem with layouts and sidebars and display - Even if you look now you can see the RSS badges don't line up with the descriptions. Sesame Street Terror Alert is out of whack etc etc.

I may just replace Sesame Street with the twitter html badge. Just something to ponder.

I sure hope no one gets pissed off from my morning upload but I didnt notice any ill effects. The upload speeds here are incredibly many times more fast than the DL speeds.

I am waiting for Last.fm to become regular again. I know my tracks are getting scrobbled but the site is incredibly slow. I get a timeout on the tracert to last.fm

While Standing in line, waiting to pay at the Gallatin Goodyear, a Gallatin Police officer comes in and jokingly (although I am not laughing) says to the guys who work at Goodyear "So, what are y'all doing today besides making easy money?"

My company vehicle firstly would not start, so it needed a new battery. Then it needed new front tires. The back tires, though old had good traction. They saw that I had a national account and their eyelids flapped like a cash register and $$$$$$ replaced the eyes. They called the national account and managed to ask for 4 new tires, a new battery (which I did need) and new brakes (which I probably needed) The truck is like a whole new truck now but god they do try and exploit these situations. The final bill to the national account was $880 Easy money for 4 hours of work.

So I am at the mall trying to find an item. The mall nowadays is a bit of a miserable experience due to the onslaught of panhandling. Kiosks manned by young people. Selling you everything from massages to toys. Also in the food court, you get people trying to give you samples. It makes an overall lousy shopping experience.

This was my dinner tonight. Cracker Barrel never seems to upset. It doesn't look too good in the picture, but we can blame this on lighting and the digital camera on my cell phone didn't have a flash. However, it was very good to eat. I also got one of those Strawberry Icebox pies. That was quite good.

Anyway I shouldn't be judgmental and I realise I can be a dick at times. But I have to mention. There is a power couple that just sat down for dinner. They both weigh in excess of 400lbs so their combined weight is in excess of 800lbs. This made me ponder for a second. I thought to myself I am sure glad that the chairs are made of sturdy wood because they would surely break and buckle under the stress. I know its not nice to make fun of people but this isn't really making fun. This is speaking critically of the obesity problem we are witnessing in the western world. The lifespan of their vehicles' suspension system is undoubtedly shortened by their added weight. Again I know it sounds ugly and mean however these comments are not directed at them as human beings. Just the obese in general. I myself am above ideal human male weight for my height.

One time there used to be this guy who was a real dick to me on an online forum - a real crappy conservative site. ( I will not mention it here but if these people still read this blog expect a deluge of comments - of which I will publish freely. But after which I will post the link to this sorry website.) He stole this tagline and used it for his own. I think whoever came up with the tagline was very clever. But it is essentially meaningless. You could put anything you wanted in its place as he did. He said "Know Guns, Know Peace. No guns, no peace nor safety". There was a deluge over at my blogsite from this board - that I left in December 2004 - from the website's administrator and all of the members. I still have every single email regarding the incident - only because I have Gmail and I have that luxury of never throwing anything away. Looking back, I should have kept those blog posts on my site flaming that retarded site - but I took it down. This was in an era before captchas and smooth editing. A quick check of the domain that was this awful board today shows that the board is still in operation. More folders than active members on the site. Its a mess. Nothing but a circle jerk of right wing hate speech.

Since Twitter is supposed to be for short replies I will make this post as a big reply. Ignore this if you don't care about flushing cat poo down the toilet

Q. Should I be concerned about flushing my cats waste?
A. The US Environmental Protection Agency recommends that pet waste be flushed down the toilet allowing waste to be properly treated by sewage treatment plants and septic systems. Not properly disposing of pet waste increases public health risks by allowing harmful bacteria and nutrients to wash into storm drains and eventually into local waterbodies.

What I believe - this is a bit misleading. The EPA are probably talking about dog poo (how else could cat waste that's thrown in the trash migrate to the storm drains) What is harmful is the possibility of toxoplasma (only found in cat poo not dog poo) getting into the drinking supply of humans.

Good on you GCG for training your cat, that is a remarkable task (not being sarcastic). I admit myself I have not seen hard evidence or peer-reviewed studies or papers on the release of toxoplasmosa into the drinking water supply of cities. I will be the first to admit I am wrong if shown otherwise. I guess it also depends on how your city handles its water treatment. I wish I could train my dog to use the toilet but it is just not possible.

In an incredible display of opulence, one church I came across in the Bible Belt Group actually has a Private Jet. If it isn't the $80 million dollar mega churches, or the retards erecting huge Gigantic crosses everywhere, spending millions of dollars on them rather than doing some of the only good deeds churches are credited with (i.e. providing aid to those in need, building schools -however religious- etc). These bastards need to be TAXED like the rest of us. They get a free pass under the guise of religion, when in actuality they are a commercial entity, competing for your soul and your cash, set up on every street corner in America.

For Grace Community Church Senior Pastor Steve Riggle, the sign of the cross can mark Houston like no other city in the country.

Riggle last week disclosed a plan to erect 150-foot crosses at the south and north entrances to the city. The crosses would be on the Grace South Campus and the North Campus properties.

Riggle doesn’t mince words when he says that the country is headed in the wrong direction politically and spiritually. The only way out, he adds, is what he believes the Founding Fathers always intended the United States to be – a Christian nation. He says the project is a start in the right direction.

“If we do it here,” Riggle said, “I believe it will happen in Los Angeles, Washington, D. C. and New York City.”
Riggle feels that, in recent years, rulings and regulations have fabricated, “the truth of history. We are not afraid of the truth, are we?” he asked. “We can make up our own mind what the Founding Fathers meant.”

There are forces out there busy tearing at the fabric of America, he said.

“The proof is abundant. They want to re-write and color history.”

Speaking at last week’s news conference at Grace’s Gulf Freeway location, Riggle unveiled a large billboard featuring the cross. A second billboard also was placed at the North Campus, located south of The Woodlands.

“This will mark our city for God,” he said. “If this doesn’t work – nothing else will work. But if we get it right, everything will fall into place.”

Eventually, Riggle would like crosses at every entrance to Houston.

“I would surround the city,” he said.

The crosses are not about Grace Community Church, Riggle pointed out.

“This is a symbol of a much larger vision – it’s for the city,” he said. “Here is an opportunity to physically and spiritually mark the city in a tangible way.”

Actually, Riggle would like to start with two 200-foot crosses, but that would need further FAA approval. But he is not discarding that idea just yet.

The total cost of the cross project doesn’t have a bottom line yet, and Riggle also plans to ask non-members of Grace from around the city to donate.

“We are going to go outside the church and even to business people and businesses,” he said. “We hope that they see the value of this serving the entire city.”

Each cross will have an elevated prayer center that groups can use.

Riggle’s eventual vision includes connecting, “One thousand churches a month in prayer through technology. All the churches would be praying for the mayor and city council. I think they would appreciate all those people praying for them.

“Politically we cannot solve our problems,” he added. “It’s a tragedy that our nation is in this shape.”

Riggle also realizes that this project may not have a smooth path to completion. Some opposition or objection will likely surface.

“That won’t surprise me, but it won’t bother me. We have the right.”

Riggle is no stranger to adversity.

Prior to starting Grace, he and wife Becky were missionaries in the Phillippines. While ministering to inmates in prison, they were taken hostage. Holding threatening knives against the Riggle’s bodies, the prisoners attempted to escape in a bus with their hostages. The guards opened fire. Both Riggles were stabbed several times and were fortunate to get out alive. All the escaping prisoners were killed in a hail of bullets. Becky Riggle was hospitalized in serious condition.

In 1983 the Riggles started Grace with 12 people at the first service. Later Grace moved to a Webster location. In 1990 a larger Grace Community was built on Crescent Landing in Clear Lake. In 2006 the present 10,000 seat worship center opened on the Gulf Freeway. In 2007 the Grace North Campus opened off I-45 North and the Spring Crossing exit.

Ill bet he attributes his good luck to "Gods intervention" no mention on the 26,000 children who die every single day of starvation on earth. No mention of all the suffering and dying world wide. No mention of the millions who die of malaria and curable diseases every year. Why should God save him and his wife in his ordeal and let thousands suffer?

So according to Mr. Dumbass, the founding Fathers wanted America to be a Christian Nation. I wonder where in the constitution he thinks it says that.

I really don't like that for someone to be president, someone has to be Christian. It doesn't actually say this in the constitution. But an atheist stands zero chance of being elected. I believe Barack is the best and most sane choice in this year's election. I know he is doing what is necessary to get elected. I am a supporter and believe he can effect real change in this country - despite being a member of the democratic party - a party that has rather disappointed me in the last 2 years. We kicked the republicans out of the congress in 2006 because we wanted change. The democrats have not delivered. From the Bill Clinton School of Triangulation, I understand Barack, Harold Ford Jr., Hillary et al are just doing what they feel are needed. To McCain voters: You really need to take a step back and look at who McCain is pandering to. The evangelical right wing is a step backward in time. They are anti-science and filled with superstition and supernatural believers. They are destructive to modern society. Science has freed us from this superstition and supernatural hocus pocus.

I am disappointed but we all know how important it is for Barack to win. Lets hope we get a good VP to complete the ticket (like maybe John Edwards) and hope that the republicans don't pull any hocus pocus of their own a la voting machines, Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004.

Great I am thinking. After all this time of hanging on my seat waiting for the results - my company paid $500 for me to take the course and we spent $1250 for me to go down there. I like how I can be sitting in bed and a thunderstorm/tornado comes rolling through and I can pull this thing out and look at the current radar - using my wifi. No need to worry about power outages (for 30 minutes anyway) cause I have a APC UPS - and plugged in to it are my DSL modem, the D link Wireless router and my desktop (sans monitor) which last about 30 minutes when the power goes out. Most of the time with our lame ass power company - the power goes out for 1-5 seconds and is restored. No reason, not even bad weather. It has happened on sunny days for no apparent reason.

Well I have the EnV2 (LG VX9100M) cause I didnt want to pay for a data plan, and also I am tied to Verizon (family/work etc) - It has some annoying UI problems but its great for texting. Verizon handset lineup sucks a dirty wet gym sock but their customer service is tops for sure. I HATE the fact that I can't have a Nokia handset from them (WTF is up with that??!?!).

I use the Nokia N810 for "smart phone" uses and although I drool at things like the E71 The EnV2 serves my needs just fine. I HATE the fact that Verizon (and others) - when after raping you financially having already bought the handset and the monthly service, rapes you again when wanting to use simple features (from email to vz navigator to ringtones to web usage and their joke that is V cast or other mobile equivalent)

Thanks to engadget I upgraded my software to the latest version. Now I still had to flash the device which pisses me off, but they say this is the last release in which you will have to do such a thing. I am glad :)

One minor bug I came across is when I clicked on the omweather settings, it wipes out all my applets!! WTF!!!?

Other than that, I can shift cities and update the weather with out any harm to the applets.

I was driving at 80 - a rare thing now a days, cause of the high cost of gas. Anyway, this useless skinbag started tailgating me so I got over and then the twat passed me. I couldn't make out who was driving but there was a female passenger. I then notice the license plate and its a special license plate (for whatever reason, maybe its to get out of being ticketed - I guess being a State House member has its privileges. Upon some digging. Ill bet it was this person's car. as thats the only Cooper in the TN house. Whoever she had driving her around she needs to teach that fucker how to drive. Suspected Flasher Pursued 4-Year-Old In Store

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro police said a man flashed a 4-year-old girl at a Rivergate store.

Metro Police spokesman Don Aaron said he pursued the child as she shopped with her grandmother at the Rivergate Wal-Mart, 2232 N. Gallatin Pike. The incident happened around 7 p.m. on May 31.

"They were essentially being stalked by a man as they made their way through the store," he said.

Surveillance video showed the man walking through the store.

Out of the camera's view, Aaron said, "At that point, the man who had been following them in the store pulled down his shorts -- or opened his shorts -- and exposed his genitals to the girl. Smiling at her."

Police said the middle-aged man has either a bald or shaved head.

"What we're concerned about is if he was brazen enough to go into a public store -- a lot of people in there on a Saturday night -- and expose himself to a young child in a merchandise aisle, what's he going to do next? What child could be his next victim?" Aaron said.

Police said Wal-Mart security is putting out the all-call to stores in the area to warn them of the suspicious man.

The police department's Sex Crimes Unit wants to hear from anyone who thinks they know who he is to call 862-7540 or Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME.

Went out tonight armed with my camera (flash) and a flashlight. The crayfish like to come out at night (burrow maintenance and also probably to eat. I made a set in flickr of all the crayfish burrows and some snaps of the crayfish. There are at least 5 of them. I went to the 5 holes and saw 5 different crayfish.

Been pretty busy doing "stuff" for work and all. Havent uploaded to flickr for a while until tonight.

Well I decided to get a new personal cell phone. I started off with the LG VX 8350:

I thought I would do fine with this. And it was ok. I - being the geek that I am immediately started to try and set up bluetooth to communicate with my N810. And it fails. I also find out that after texting with it that the UI is incredibly cumbersome. Reminiscent of the old LG that I used to have. (not a fan of LG) anyway I end up taking this bad boy back. I was not too disappointed with it, but felt I should replace it while I could. 3 days after the purchase.

So I got this thing, which is the LG VX9100M (sorry these are not great pictures)

Great UI (I do have to get used to the Nokia-esque joystick if you will, its a little different. but I am happy with it.

The Crayfish has been making more and more burrows in my backyard. There is a whole set of these on flickr that are adjacent to this one:

And on Sat night, there was a hellacious storm that blew through. The lightning was incredible. The strike rate was about 12-15 per second. And the storm front captured in this photo

was moving at a high rate of speed. it was something incredible like 30 m/s! I saw this incredible lightning and so I got the tripod, turned out all the lights, and tried some different exposures using my remote. The damned street lighting fuqued up the effect I was trying to create. I was also trying to get a lightning strike. No such luck. Nevertheless there was a whole shitpile of lightning that night.

as an aside, if you are in Nashville I recommend Gigi's cupcakes.

These things were damn delicious. They only shifted cause I was driving them home - and it was hot in the truck.

Lastly and most importantly, I am a proud papa. My daughter Daniella can write her own name. She is only 3.8 years old.

My new policy on Twitter, is follow a whole shitpile of people especially in Nashville and turn device updates off except the inner circle. (I dont want a new text message every 3 seconds) and act as a public service. Today I saw those sneaky fuckers Metro Nashville police lining the pockets of the govt. by stopping cars on D.B. Todd. They had one guy on foot, with a radar gun hiding behind the bushes with a radio. He would radio to 3 unmarked Impalas down the road to wave people to the side streets to ticket them. Bastards! They pulled this shit on Rosa Parks near Bicentennial Mall too. So I tweeted about it, telling people of the speed trap. Hopefully it did some good.

(46.779036, -56.181047) The Provence is owned by France, they speak French as the official Language, The vehicle registrations are French, and the power plugs are even 220VAC with French plugs.

So for someone who would love to go to France and never leave North America, this looks like a great solution.

I, like most people suffer from allergies. After cutting the lawn, exposure to cats, walking around in middle Tennessee, etc.

I cannot recommend these products enough. I have the one called "Arctic". Here are some important things to consider:

If a slight stinging sensation bothers you, this product is not for you. Here is what happens. After dropping the eye drops in the eye, it feels a bit like that feeling when you are running and sweating so much that the sweat gets in your eyes, and it kind of burns. This lasts for about 2 - 5 minutes. But after having an itchy red eye - it is a welcome sensation. You can really feel the eye drops working. The result is a very comfortable eye and when inspection in a mirror, a very clean and very white white of the eye. They managed to package a bottle of awesome.

I had a prescription for this more than a year ago. I still use it. If your nose gets clogged from allergies use this it works. Hands down.

Instead of doing screenshots of the N810 I am going to start just plain taking pictures of it, and you should be able to see, what I am doing.

Been busy all morning - started cutting the lawn and it starts to rain. So I stop and then realize I am out of gas. So I go and buy some gas - the last time I bought gas for the lawn mower it was something like $2.10 per gallon. Feeling he sting from the gas pump I came back and started again. Mr. Crayfish has made some new burrows in my back yard which I have yet to take any photos of.

Going to try and spend some time doing some relaxification today.

Another finger waving minister arrested in sex scandal.

A Plano megachurch minister was taken into custody Thursday after authorities say he drove to Bryan, Texas, to have sex with a person he thought to be a 13-year-old.

Joe Barron, a minister at Prestonwood Baptist Church, is accused of online solicitation of a minor.

According to Bryan police, Mr. Barron had chatting for about two weeks with the person that he thought to be a juvenile. "The online conversations were sexually explicit in nature," the release said.

On Tuesday, Mr. Barron asked if the girl could meet him in person, police said. Two days later, he made the three-hour drive to Bryan to meet the girl.

Undercover officers arrested him upon his arrival, police said. In his vehicle, police said they found web-cam and headset as well as condoms, police said.

Officials: Day Care Put 38 Kids Into 15-Passenger Van On Field Trip - Orlando News Story - WKMG Orlando

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A Jacksonville day care is being investigated by the Department of Children and Families after 38 children were placed into a 15-passenger van on a field trip to Chuck E. Cheese's, officials said. DCF spokesman John Harrell said 38 children from Kids Creation Child Care were stuffed into the van and were heading back to the center when a Chuck E. Cheese's employee saw the incident and called police. Harrell said the group of 4-year-olds were sitting on other children's laps, some were sitting on the floor between the seats and others were standing in the van.

Police ordered the day care to get a second van, but when it arrived they found that neither driver was properly licensed -- one driver only had a learner's permit. Harrell said the day care center will likely be fined but will not face any criminal charges. An investigation into the incident is ongoing. Watch Local 6 News for more on this story.

After being fed up with having to wait almost a whole month - from the Nokia Repair Center. I call them up on Wednesday and complain (+1 888 665 4228). I ask why it takes so long for a simple replacement etc. etc. The lady says she has "escalated" my query. So While I am listening to the iPod and polishing off a big fat lunch #3 from Las Palmas, I hear the doorbell ring (here at work we keep the door locked) and its the USPS guy. He has a shitload of mail and a box. I dont get too excited and then he says "I need a signature confirmation for Chris..." The box is the right size for an N810... hmm I start to get a little excited. I sign it and thank him. I take in into my office. I see the return address. Oh hell yes. You know these guys probably had them on hand all along.

Yes people, complaining does actually work.

I am a bit pissed - cause I didnt even like the name Chris1051 to begin with. I wanted "Chris" but since thats a pretty hard username to get I had to think of something unique. So I chose my last 4 of my office phone. Surely no one else would pick that right? Yeah I was wrong. For whatever reason this guy chose it. But I used it thinking no one else would and have been using it for every web 2.0 site I have joined over the last 4 years. A quick Google Search shows nothing but me in ALL the google links!

Technological Problem #4,080

For an early adopter such as myself, I seem to be wrought with problems. The iPod has been working fine and I am so glad that the battery has lasted from Sunday. The problem is it will only charge while being connected to the PC.

I posted a thread over at the iLounge. I will quote it here:

I came across something odd. I have used a Belkin Car charger since 2005 for my 4th Gen ipod (which later died) and it worked like a charm. Its basically a cigarette lighter plug in dealio and the other end plugs into the ipod to charge. Well lately I noticed it locked up my nano (video 8GB) and so I unplugged it and reset the nano and discarded the charger figuring something broke it. I then decide - when I get home to use a genuine apple wall adapter which came with my 4th Gen, and the firewire cable (plugged into the wall adapter) to solely use it to charge, and the same thing happens with the nano, it gets locked up, the album art (that is normally shifting very slowly is frozen. This is using a Genuine Apple wall charger and a genuine Apple firewire cable. This is truly odd. So When syncing, I am using the genuine USB cable it came with and after syncing, it finally is charging it. SO apparently only the USB it came with can charge it. Is this something they implemented with new software - to ensure no one uses 3rd party chargers? Also, My music library is on my desktop so if I wanted to say charge the ipod at work, what is the harm in plugging it in to that computer (that doesnt have itunes) is the ipod going to see that the PC doesnt have itunes and freak out? Or can I just plug it in and it will charge it?

any help is appreciated.

So I havent tried the suggestions, but tonight I was a bit fed up and just went ahead and hit "Restore" I am going to try the suggestions if this doesnt work.

So I am syncing the nano fresh and also giving it a good overnight charge.

Dothan Impressions - A Great Divide

I left Nashville on Monday for a nice road trip. I was in the "new" company truck this time its not an extended cab, and also doesn't have a tool box for extra storage. So things were tight. I had "Mr. Garlic" seated in the front seat - something I promised my daughter I would do, is to take him with me.

The ride down was very long but a nice ride. Here are the snaps of the ride down:

Once there I checked in and dipped in the pool as it was nice and hot. The view from my room:

Dothan, AL is a strange place. I came in on the Montgomery Highway on Monday - a perfect example of the Amerification of cities all over. That is - a main street with multiple stop lights and lined with the customary Best Buy, Circuit City, Dicks Sporting goods, Wal Mart, Every Fast food joint under the sun.

I check in to the Holiday Inn Express - which also contributes to the recent Amerification.

Brand new hotel - and even with the state of modern pest control I found a dead roach on the floor near the courtesy PC's - next to the Breakfast room. You just can't escape these bastards. The hotel is nice though. Great for business trips.

Which brings me to the point of the whole trip. Without actually disclosing who I work for and what it is exactly that I do, (I am a CEI - figure that out) I am in town to take a cert course. Being that I have no experience in Traffic signals, I was pretty overwhelmed. The instructor was good, however he was pushing for us to take the exam on the Tuesday. After 4 hours of instruction. I told him I was pretty unfamiliar with the subject matter, and felt more comfortable taking the exam the Wednesday morning. (I really wished I could have taken it this afternoon [WED]) but I had to take it this morning. I spent 3 hours in the TGI's after dinner sipping on a few beers and studying my ass off. The TGI's were dead anyway. The exam, was ok. 100 questions, but I admit I was stuck on a few questions and am really nervous about the result. I came to a point sometime this morning during the last minute studying, that these people really mean business and - it was a shame I didnt have more time to study.

So I am sure I passed (>70%) but its kind of nerve racking. And when done - I handed the guy the exam and he said ok well let you know within 8 weeks. I am thinking to myself WTF!? So that was it. They told me I could leave. Saying everything except "Get the fuck outta here" In a nice way. This seemed odd to me. I really would have liked to have heard my results today. Oh well.

Back to Dothan. The weather is beautiful. The trees are wonderful - the same can be said of the state of Alabama, which - before this visit - I was not generally impressed with.

It was so nice to see Palm Trees again. Though being 87 miles away from the coast was a bit teasing, -especially because I couldn't go down there. But Anyway, yes the environment was nice. The town itself has loads of big peanut sculptures. I tried to take as many pictures as I could of them (there are lots of them scattered throughout town) but only managed to get 3:

This was cool, and added a unique flavor to Dothan - thereby downgrading its Amerification ranking.

There was no observable middle class. I saw either rich white people or very very (emphasis on the word "very") poor black people. I saw rich white people driving around in their Air conditioned SUV's and BMW sport cars, and I saw black people sitting on the porches of their run down dilapidated houses - this was truly the poorest of the poor. I have never been to Louisiana but I am told it is a similar situation there. There really are 2 Americas.

What isn't run down and standing on one wobbly leg is either shut down, or razed.

I would have loved to have eaten in some cool independent restaurants for a real feel of the local cuisine but I just couldn't find any that weren't shut down. Maybe I was ill informed. So I had to go with the tried and tested restaurant chains. Monday night it was Olive Garden.

And the next night it was TGI's Which happen to be right next door to the Olive Garden.

For lunch on both days I ate at Atlanta Bread. Didnt even bring my Laptop in. Wishing I had my N810 - which is another blog post altogether.

And tonight I am probably going to go back to olive garden. I know I suck.

After the exam, I decided to hang by the pool again, fucked around and got sunburnt on my legs and face. -Owwwww. It burns it burrrrrrns! I fell asleep listening to the iPod - which doesn't charge unless its hooked up to a PC. (suck) so I have 1/2 a battery left after 3 days lets hope it holds out for the road trip tomorrow.

In the Morning I am going to hit the road back to Nashville. Its been an interesting week. Thanks for reading.

15 days after sending the N810 off for "repair" I still have no idea when a replacement is going to arrive. Looks like I will have to take my road trip (MONDAY) without it. :(

This sucks. I would have hoped that since these guys can't repair it, and therefore need a replacement, would just cut out the middle man, and send me the replacement directly. I couldn't even be so lucky as to have that kind of logic working behind the process.

At least I have Google Earth's Flight Simulator to occupy me. And Starcraft.

Especially in states who have no safety inspections, (i.e. Tennessee) I don't mind seeing a professional racing car, or a car thats professionally done, (with a wing that isnt too stoopid) but these DIY fucktards are still annoying, as they were in 1999.

So far:

26 November 2007 - I hear about the N810 and drool.
15 March 2008 - I come to the realization that I can and should purchase this device.
20 March 2008 - I purchase the N810 online and pay $437, The device is back ordered.
28 March 2008 - After waiting for 8 days, The N810 Arrives via FedEx.
21 April 2008 - I get Rickrolled and the device fatally crashes.
22 April 2008 - I send in the device, Pay $23 to have it shipped via UPS to the repair center.
23 April 2008 - Repair center receives the device.
28 April 2008 - I find out that they cannot replace the device and have to replace it.
1 May 2008 - They apparently still can't get a device shipped to them - to replace (you would have thought they would have had these things on hand.

Came across this this morning. I don't oppose States' rights to make such plates, if 100% of the money goes to the state. But as a separation of church and state advocate, I cry foul when the money goes towards furthering the Christian agenda.

Florida's specialty license plates require the payment of additional fees, some of which go to causes the plates endorse.

One plate approved in 2004, displaying the motto "Family First," funds Sheridan House, which provides family programs but also sees its purpose as "sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Bible" and "information about the Christian faith."

Looks like they are challenging it though, as we should.

So There is a spot available but the rude boy/girl in the Explorer (left) parked on the line. So I back mine in level (equidistant on both sides) and if he/she had a problem getting in thats their problem heh heh.

But as it turned out I had to leave at 8:30 and when I left the Explorer was still there. :(

But its not what you expect. I got Rickrolled a while ago, and thought the whole idea was so funny. That song in particular was one of my favorites from my childhood. Last night I was humming the tune and Daniella asks "What song is that?" So I wanted to show her. No problem I pull out my N810, go to You Tube and go to this video. It plays the opening tune and then locks up. huh? que? I go and look and the screen is dead. And thats the last time there was life in my N810. After hours of troubleshooting, and a phone call to Nokia, I am to send it back for repair/replacement. This is incredibly disappointing. I will document the process and publish it here. Tonight I am going to FedEx/Kinkos at Vandy to ship the device to Huntsville, AL. I have never dropped the device, never allowed a drop of water near it, I have treated this device as if it were made of crystal. (out of respect for the device and all its power) And look at how the gadget gods repay me.

Will keep updating here. It goes in a box tonight (2008-04-22) after receiving the N810 on 2008-03-28, It breaks down on 2004-04-21.

Will take extra precaution to document the process.
