This is maybe the 15th winter storm this season. Winter is not going to give up easily this time I guess.


URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

506 AM EST SUN FEB 27 2005

.A MAJOR WINTER STORM MAY AFFECT A LARGE PORTION OF SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY. LOW PRESSURE DEVELOPING OVER THE GULF OF MEXICO THIS MORNING WILL INTENSIFY SIGNIFICANTLY MONDAY...PASSING CLOSE TO CAPE COD MONDAY NIGHT AND EARLY TUESDAY. THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE A SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL ACROSS SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND AND SOUTHWEST NEW HAMPSHIRE ALONG WITH INCREASING NORTHEAST WINDS AND POSSIBLE COASTAL FLOODING.

A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED FOR ACCUMULATING SNOW OF 6 OR MORE INCHES IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD OR 8 MORE INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS MONDAY AFTERNOON INTO TUESDAY SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MODIFY TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD WINTER WEATHER DEVELOP. WHILE THE MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE SHOULD NOT BE IMPACTED...THE EVENING COMMUTE COULD BE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTED BY SNOW.

Something like 70 inches of snow on the cape so far this winter, about 55 inches in Boston.
